Today I welcome Gregory Kyryluk, better known as Alpha Wave Movement and Open Canvas. He joined us last week and kindly handed over his whole collection for us to broadcast. Gregory composes ambient music since more than twenty years. His works are comparable to Brian Eno and Steve Roach. I think his Open Canvas releases have some of the most beautiful ambient passages I ever heard. Because his cds are so hard to get, we decided to sell them as downloads from next week on. We will also publish them on the radio station at the weekend. Be prepared for some fascinating moments. But beware, you'll find some really old-school nineties sound there too. :)
While we are talking from downloads, the whole Ultimae and Virtual Musical Reality collections are available as downloads too now. I'm particularly happy about the Virtual downloads because their cds are all produced as 500 copies limited editions. Once a series is sold out, it's gone forever. So here we have them all for everybody who missed their copy. For those of you who don't know anything about Virtual, it is Ishq's (Matt Hillier und Jacqueline Kersley) personal Label. Every cd follows a special theme. Collectible musical journeys for a deep going listening experience. Every composition is somewhat special in it's own way.
I can give two more recommendations: A Deep Dive by Nordlight is a nice compilation from Spintwist Records. A return to the easy chillout of the last years, away from the israeli psy-chill that's been flooding the shelves everywhere. Reboot by the Blue Pilots Project is a great shot too. It's Thomas Kosidis' second album and maybe even a bit better than his first. Take a look at both albums before they're gone. Availability is limited.
